About me

The curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, then I can change. Carl Rogers
Training & qualifications I am a fully qualified counsellor and registered member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling & Psycho-therapy) so I abide by their framework for Ethical Practice (you can download here - https://www.bacp.co.uk/media/2176/bacp-ethical-framework-for-the-counselling-professions.pdf). These include working with integrity, honesty, courage and so on. I hold confidentiality as central to my work. Qualifications: - CPCAB Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling- CPCAB Level 4 Diploma in Counselling Children- BACP Certificate of Proficiency
ExperienceMost of my experience consists of working with the adults, in different settings. After previously working in the agency, I have my own private practise and through the years I worked with all kinds of issues, as listed below, always supporting and promoting higher confidence and good mental health and well being, and generally happier way of life. For a season, I also worked at schools with children and young people of all ages from diverse cultural backgrounds, working through their relational, teenage issues and anxieties relating to difficult family circumstances or exam stress. Nowadays, I work mainly with the adults.
Areas of counselling the adults I am particularly experienced in:•Stress (work related or other), and Anxiety •Redundancy, Career and life choices •Addiction or Eating disorders •Panic attacks and OCD •Bereavement & loss•Unresolved trauma •Anger management •Self-esteem, addictions •Depression and Feeling sad & low •Family concerns and Relationship issuesI carry out various CPD training courses (CPD – Continued Professional Development) on a regular basis to keep my skills and knowledge up to date.
My ApproachI work mainly with person-centred approach in a warm, safe, confidential and non-judgemental manner. My approach is very personal and every counselling therapy is tailored according to the needs of the client. When I find it helpful, I at times use tools from other modalities of counselling. As to the speed, we can move in the pace that is just comfortable for you and discuss only things you want to bring up in the sessions, there is no push at all. By us working together, I would like to support you to find more understanding and meaning in your life, to help you move forward with the aim of enabling you to enhance your life and to live it more fully. I believe that each person has the ability to take responsibility for themselves and to change and grow towards their own, full potential. I am privileged to be a facilitator of such positive change, which is, for me, fascinating to watch.
